Hi everyone! We are looking forward to the upcoming Halloween season and the 8th annual “Haunting of Fort Zachary Taylor.”
As proven in past years, this project is fun and exciting, and, most importantly, helps to preserve a very important piece of Key West and U.S. military history. Each year we raise thousands of dollars to help maintain and repair Fort Zachary Taylor and its grounds. In our sponsorship package we have included a brief history of Zachary Taylor and a short essay on why the fort named in his honor has earned the dubious moniker “Fort Forgotten.” These two items will give you some excellent background on the majestic fort and some insight on just how much help this once majestic structure needs if we are going to save her.

Each year we do our part to make a difference and we are starting to see results. Restoration has begun on one entire wing of the fort! Until now, that wing was condemned. The pictures in the sponsorship kit give an idea of the difference we can make and we need your help. Below are some ideas on how you can help sponsor this year’s haunted attraction. Together we can create something fun for the community of Key West while helping restore a proud piece of the island’s history.

Sponsorship money
Each year we need to raise as much money as possible for the production costs of the Haunting of Fort Zachary Taylor. The spooky extravaganza is a 30 scene production based on the real haunted history of Key West. Attached to this letter is a sponsorship breakdown sheet that will detail what you will receive for different levels of sponsorship. We have made the incentives fun and exciting for sponsors that get involved so they get the most out this Halloween for their support.

In-kind sponsorship
For people who are unable to support our efforts financially, there are many other ways they can help out. It takes a lot of materials and manpower to build a haunted attraction of this magnitude. We have listed some of the in-kind sponsorship ideas that have been vital to our production in the past in Appendix B

On behalf of the event staff for the Haunting of Fort Zachary Taylor, I thank you for taking time in reviewing this and I truly hope you will want to get involved. Help us bring the rich, haunted history of Key West, "The Isle of Bones," to life in 2008 by joining us in helping create this outstanding community project.

See you on the other side…
